The Chinese Ministry of Environmental Protection sets up special funds to support the air pollution prevention and control plan

Recently, in order to cooperate with the implementation of the air pollution prevention and control action plan, the Ministry of Environmental Protection is preparing its supporting air pollution prevention and control science and technology action plan, which will support scientific and technological research projects related to air pollution prevention and control through special funds.
Related technologies such as the upgrading of desulfurization and denitrification technologies related to air pollution prevention and control, motor vehicle exhaust, fine particulate matter treatment, pollution source analysis, and air pollution forecasting and early warning are all supported by the science and technology action plan. Among them, the air pollution prevention and control technology related to VOC (volatile organic compounds) and the related technology of fine particulate matter treatment will become one of the key points supported by the action plan. At present, the Ministry of Environmental Protection has established an expert group with the participation of multiple departments and units. In the future, enterprises, scientific research institutes and universities can apply for the relevant special funds of the action plan.
Industry insiders believe that the introduction of the action plan will become another special science and technology policy specifically designed to support the prevention and control of air pollution after the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan for the Blue Sky Science and Technology Project." In October 2012, the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Environmental Protection jointly announced the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan for the Blue Sky Science and Technology Project." Using financial and capital markets, we will introduce technology risk investment into the field of energy conservation and environmental protection, and carry out pilot projects such as specialized corporate loan risk compensation, technology research and development subsidies, and high-tech corporate equity pledge loans. It also provides technical solutions and demonstration practices for the prevention and control of air pollution in about 10 key regions and large and medium-sized cities.
